Wayne D. Thomas , age 68 of Freeport, IL, formerly of Rockford, IL, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. He was born on June 24, 1950; the son of Benjamin Thomas and Lillian (Lasley) Mayborne. He married Tina Graff on December 12, 2005.

Wayne had served in the United States Navy retiring after 25 years as Navy Cryptologic Technician Chief. After retiring from the military, he worked at WPI in Rockford for 18 years as a warranty administrative technician. Wayne was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls, and NASCAR. He also enjoyed listening to all kinds of music and reading was his number one passion.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Thomas of Freeport; daughters, Jennifer Thomas of Machesney Park, IL and Katrina Thomas of Nashville, TN; step-daughter, Kristina Wall of Freeport; step-son, Kristopher (Nicole) Wall of Freeport; grandchildren, Julie, Bailey, Khloe, Alexis and Kayla; sister, TiJuania (Mark) Eberle of Machesney Park; brothers, Calvin (Sherie) Thomas of Rockford, Ben (Norden) Thomas of DeKalb, IL, and Raymond (Denise) Mayborne Jr; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; his mother; step-father, Raymond Mayborne Sr.; and son, Alan Thomas.
