Willard H. Brown, 90, of Freeport, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at Presence St. Joseph Nursing Center.
Born July 28, 1923 in Muscatine, Iowa he was the son of Emil and Margaret (White) Brown.
He married Shirley E. Harbsmeier July 6, 1946. She passed away July 1, 2010.
Willard was a World War II Navy veteran and was the previous owner of Flachtemeier Monument Works in Freeport
He belonged to the Northwest Illinois Rock Club and the V.F.W.
Surviving are his son, Dale A. Brown of Freeport; two daughters, Kathy (Richard) Pratt of Dixon and Dawn (Brian) Pruitt of California; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and three sisters.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A celebration of life will be held for Willard and Shirley Brown 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 at Walker Mortuary.
Interment of his cremated remains will be in Oakland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established for Presence St. Joseph Nursing Center and FHN Hospice.
