Willard R. "Rod" Marsh, 61, of Freeport, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Born July 20, 1950 in Freeport he was the son of Willard L. and Angeline A. (Kunkle) Marsh. He married Connie S. Baumgartner Keister January 9, 1988 in Freeport.
Rod was a U.S. Army veteran.
He worked with Verizon for 23 years.
He was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving are his wife, Connie of Freeport; 2 daughters, Amy (Mike) Smith of Loves Park and Erica (Mason Hatfield) Marsh of Freeport; 1 step daughter, Jennifer (Andy) Ruhl of Scottsdale, Arizona; 1 step son, Blaine (Stephanie Shinmachi) Keister of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania; 2 brothers, Dennis (Rita) Marsh of Chillicothe and Dick (Sherri) Marsh of Freeport; 7 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Walker Mortuary. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2011
at Walker Mortuary.
