William B. "Bill" Motter 73 of Dakota passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at his home. Born August 13, 1941 in Freeport he was the son of William and Phyllis (Campbell) Motter. Bill was a 1959 graduate of Dakota High School. On September 8, 1962 he and Joann Alber were united in marriage in Freeport. He was a farmer in the Dakota area for many years. He enjoyed collecting all kinds of tractors. Bill was a member of Dakota United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife Joann of Dakota; four children Pam (Mike) Jordan of Pengilly, MN, Jodi Miller of Freeport, Brian Motter of Plainfield, IN, Scott Motter of Southaven, MS; nine grandchildren Scott Jordan, Amy Blaine, Grant Miller, Garrett Miller, Brooke Miller, Mackenzie Motter, Keegan Motter, Whitney Motter and Dylan Motter; six great grandchildren Aubrey, Bradley, Hailey, Macie, Brynn and Landon; two sisters Jeri Ann (Ray) Nieman of Freeport and Susan (Jim) Rupnow of Wausau, WI. Preceding him in death were his parents. Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2015 from 3-7 p.m. at the East Gate Christian Center in Freeport and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the Church. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be at the Dakota Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name.
