William E. Derr Jr., 86, of Freeport, died Friday, December 16, 2011, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born January 21, 1925 in Lena he was the son of William and Esther (Hinze) Derr. He married Laura Cooper January 22, 1945 in Orangeville.
William was a long time farmer and owner of Bill Derr Construction.
He was a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Lena.
Surviving are his wife of Freeport; 4 daughters, Theresa (Elwyn) Drye of Rockford, Darlene (Landis) Barr of Orangeville, Marlene Pearson of Freeport, and Patricia (Jeffery) Rowe of Freeport; 1 son, Kelly Derr of Freeport; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Art Stees officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday 12 noon until time of service at Walker Mortuary.
Interment of Williams's cremated remains will be in Gund Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his name for FHN Hospice.
