William "Bill" A. Frye, 74, of German Valley, IL passed away on November 28, 2023. He was born in Dixon, IL on September 7, 1949 to William R. Frye and Edythe E. (Webster) Frye. Bill graduated from Freeport Sr. High School in 1968. He worked at Bachrodt Auto in Freeport, IL for several years after high school while continuing his education at Highland Community College. Bill worked at Ingersoll Milling Machine in Rockford, IL for 29 years before the company shut down in 2003. He went on to work at Dial Machine in Rockford, IL for 11 years before retiring in 2016. His ambition to work didn't stop there, he went back to Dial Machine on a part time basis for 5 more years until he officially retired in 2021. Bill married the love of his life, Jeannine C. (Peight) Frye on January 24, 1970. Bill was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. For many years, Bill was actively involved and a former president of the Freeport Jaycees in the 80's and was well known as "Wolfman" for many Jaycee events. Whether it was his employment or a weekend project, Bill was never one to shy away from hard work. If there was something that needed to be constructed or repaired you could always count on Bill to roll up his sleeves to figure out a way to get the job done. Jeannine was always there to share her input as well.

Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeannine; his son, Jeff (Jamie Johnston) Frye of Freeport, IL; daughter, Kristin (Matt) Hollinger of Rockton, IL; grandchildren, Nathan Hollinger, Megan Hollinger and Alanna Neuendorf; sister, Judy (Neal Hanson) Jenner; brother-in law, Gary A.
