Freeport – William K. Samuelson, 79 of Freeport/Red Oak died at FHN Memorial Hospital on September 11, 2021. Born to the late Oscar and Evelyn (Hemphill) Samuelson on October 28, 1941.
He graduated from Orangeville High School in 1959. He was the first to receive the Keith Miller award for OHS. He worked for 30+ years at Micro Switch. He was very proud to be a fireman, Chief and trustee for the Cedarville Fire Department for many years. He served as a Deacon at the Zion Church of Freeport. He was also an avid fisherman and deer hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Ann of Red Oak; his daughter, Kelli (Tim) Boyer of Davis; his step-sons, Michael (Sandy) Price of Peoria, IL and Tim (Cara) Price of Scales Mound, IL; his sisters, Joyce Voegeli of South Wayne, WI; Sharon (James) Barmore of Cedarville, IL and Marsha (the late Wendell) Cox of Freeport. His legacy includes 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Diane, his son Michael and infant son, Todd.
