Cedarville
William "Bill" Thompson of Cedarville, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at his home.
Born August 9, 1940 in Carroll County he was the son of Glenn and Bertha (Kruse) Thompson. He married Nancy Mann June 27, 1969.
Bill worked for Structo Manufacturing for 20 years and then 25 years for Sauer Danfoss.
His memberships included Freeport Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Freeport Moose Lodge, and the Hurst-Olds Club.
He was an avid Green Bay Packer and NASCAR fan. To his NASCAR friends, and out of respect for Bill Elliott, he was known as "Awesome Bill from Cedarville".
Surviving is his wife, Nancy; his mother, Bertha Thompson both of Cedarville; 1 daughter, Tammy (Lonnie) Huenefeld of Pearl City; 2 sons, Terry (Brenda) Breeze of Freeport and William Breeze of Janesville, Wisconsin; 1 sister, Lavonne (Kenneth) Wagenknecht of Freeport; 2 brothers, Laverne (Ingrid) Thompson and Kenneth Thompson both of Freeport; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Rustin, Justin and Derrick Breeze, Breanna and Hanjua Huenefeld; and his good buddies, Gerry Whalen of Dakota and Bob Oorlog of Cedarville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn; 1 grandson, Bryan Breeze; and 2 infant brothers.
Funeral service will be Thursday, December 23, 2010, 11 a.m., at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Donnley Dutcher of St. John United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
