Obituary

Wilma Aden 92 of Freeport passed away on 7/5/22 at Walnut Acres. She was born April 6, 1930 to Alvin and Lillian Schneider (Schildwachter), at her grandfather's home Southeast of Lanark, IL. Wilma moved with her family to Chadwick in 1935. She attended Mission Reach country School during her grade school years, and then joined the class of 1947 for her High School education.

Wilma and Bill Aden were married November 1, 1952 at 1st Lutheran Church in Chadwick. They both worked for her father on the Beef farm until they moved to the Freeport area in 1956. Wilma was a full-time homemaker and also helped her husband when they farmed. After farming she was a bookkeeper for Aden Excavating Snow Removal and Lawn Service.

She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with family and friends. Planting flowers in the spring, singing with her two sisters, bowling, ceramics, and reading. She loved to bake goods like coffee cake, cinnamon rolls, and her famous mac and cheese for her family. Last but not least, dancing with her loving husband in their younger years. Bill passed away in 2005 after 53 years of a happy married life together. Wilma was a member of 1st Lutheran church in Freeport and TOPS 1689.

She is survived by a son Ronald Aden of Baileyville, IL. Four grandkids Mike (Heather) Dietmeier, Jennifer Dietmeier, Staci Aden, and Nicole Aden. Three Great grandchildren Jaydin, Jered, and Gabriella. One Great Great grandchild Legend. Many nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death are her parents, husband, Daughter Connie Aden, Three sisters and two brothers in law. Three nephews and one niece. Wilma loved all of her family and friends very much.

Services will be held at the Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum on Monday, July 11, 2022 beginning at 1pm.  Pastor Keith Johnson of First Lutheran Church will be officiating.
