Wilma L. Fuchs, 89, of Freeport, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born October 2, 1921 in Freeport she was the daughter of Charles and Martha (Schablion) Sorn. She married Joseph Fuchs January 31, 1948 in Orangeville and he died November 15, 1974.
She worked at Burgess Battery before her marriage and then side by side with her husband on the family farm.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Regina (Robert) Schulz and Marie Smith both of Freeport; 4 grandchildren, Julie (Mike) Anthon, Jon (Sherri) Schulz, Jeremy (Kati Harbach) Schulz, Scott (Carrie) Smith; 5 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Gavin, Wally, Joe, and Zane; and sister-in-law, Kate Sorn of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers, Ivan and Milt Sorn; infant twin sisters; a son-in-law, Michael; and her sister-in-law, Edith.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2011, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
