Freeport – Zoe E. Holbert, 91 of Freeport passed away on October 20, 2023 at Freeport Manor.  She was born on April 17, 1932 in Freeport to Cecil and Florence (Weckerly) Stephenson.  She married Clarence Holbert on September 9, 1950 at First Lutheran Church and together they built a life.  He died January 16, 2013 at age 81.
She worked for FHN as a ward secretary and also as a receptionist at Anchor Harvey.  Zoe loved the early morning sunrises, McDonald's coffee, her Soap Operas, Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right.
She leaves behind her family including her daughter-in-law and caregiver, Ginger Holbert of Freeport.  Her 6 grandchildren, Troy Holbert of Rockford; Traci (Kevin) Kirk of Texas; Jessica (Patrick Smith) Holbert of Freeport; Joel (Natasha) Holbert of Freeport; Jocelyn Holbert of Freeport and Timothy R. (Jessica) Holbert of Poplar Grove, IL and her 16 great grandchildren.
She is preceded by her parents, her husband and her two sons, Thomas and Timothy A. Holbert.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 beginning at 10am at Walker Mortuary.  A service will immediately follow at 11am also as Walker Mortuary.  Her final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens of Freeport next to her husband.  A memorial has been established in her name.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com
