Michael Ray "Mike" Edler, 62, of Freeport, died Monday, January 9, 2012, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born September 29, 1949 in Freeport he was the son of Randall and Edith (Lamoreux) Edler. He married Holly Bloyer December 29, 1995.
Mike was a truck driver working for Adams Equipment in Rockford.
He enjoyed trips to the casino but his favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Holly of Freeport; his mother, Edith Edler of Lena; 1 daughter, Tammie (Scott) Etheridge of Winslow; 1 son, Shane (Angie) Edler of Lena; 2 step-daughters, Kelli (Jeremy) Kappes and Krista (Jermone) Hall both of Freeport; 1 sister, Marjory (Michael) Liphart of Lena; 9 grandchildren; 1 great Grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father; 1 daughter, Shawna Edler; 2 brothers, Scott and Kevin Edler.
His body has been donated to science per his wishes.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January, 12, 2012 at St. John United Church of Christ.
