Lorraine E. Dame, age 90 of Freeport, IL, past peacefully from this earth on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born January 21, 1926 in Freeport, she was the daughter of John and Alma (Neumann) Fletcher. On November 23, 1944 Lorraine and Robert Dame were married in Freeport at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Rev. Otto Schumacker, where she was a lifelong member. Robert passed on July 22, 2014.
Lorraine previously worked at Micro Switch and Freeport High School Cafeteria. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and canning, playing cards, and dominos.
Surviving are one daughter, Carol Sue (Dennis) Howe of Freeport; three sons, William (Jeanne) Dame of Kerrville, TX, Frederick (Tammy) Dame of Stacy, MN, and Gary Dame of San Francisco, CA; two grandsons, Kevin (Stacey) Howe of Oshkosh, WI and Kyle Dame of Stacy, MN; granddaughter, Kallie (Colin) Rutten of Jamestown, ND; great grandson, Tyler Howe of Oshkosh, WI; sister-in-law, Delores Arteberry; brothers-in-law, Gerald Millam and Larry Rubendall; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Robert; brother, John "Jack" Fletcher; four sisters, Carol Gibbs, Judith Rubendall, Geraldine Kidder, and Joanne Millam; and great grandson, Austin Howe.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Willis Schwichtenberg officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. A private burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church. Condolences may be shared at
