Lorraine L. Dodson, 81, of Freeport, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at her home.
Born July 29, 1927 in Freeport she was the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Stearns) Brown. She married Harry C. Dodson August 30, 1946 in Freeport.
Lorraine loved flowers, cooking, and especially enjoyed summers at her cottage in Wisconsin.
Surviving are her husband, Harry; her children, Deborah (Curtis Dale) Marcum, Randy Dodson, and Larry (Melva) Dodson all of Freeport; 7 grandchildren, Laurie (Robert) Birchell of Kenosha, WI, Bradley (Heidi) Marcum of Loves Park, Daniel (Jody) Dodson of Palatine, Dorie (Nate) Sheppard of Freeport, David Dodson of Orlando, FL, Nathan (Dawn) Dale of Cedarville, and Jessica (Jordan Werntz) Dale of Freeport; 7 great grandchildren, Riley and Logan Dodson, Taylor and Owen Sheppard, Addison and Ivy Dale, and Trent Strohecker.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be Friday 1:30 p.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend John Hollis of First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
