Freeport-A. Corrinne Hamon, 72, of Freeport, died Friday, June 16, 2006, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Born October 9, 1933 to William T. and Jessie G. (Webber) Harbin on a farm in Henry County, Illinois.
A graduate of Kewanee High School in 1951, she moved to Freeport in 1958. She married Eugene R. Hamon in Freeport on January 23, 1976.
She was a secretary at the W.T. Rawleigh Company for 8 years and an Executive Secretary in the Corporate Office of Newell Co. from 1979 to 1999. She served as the organist choir director at Grace Episcopal Church for 8 years and then at Bethany United Church of Christ since 1972. She accompanied performers throughout Northern Illinois and was the accompanist for 13 productions at the Winneshiek Theater in the 70's.
She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ where she served on the Consistory and was member of the Afternoon Circle. A member of the Freeport Women's Club, she was a former president.
Corrinne enjoyed needlework, baking, and traveling.
Surviving are her husband, Eugene of Freeport; a son, Commander Timothy Crawford, of San Diego, California; two daughters, Cindy (John) Bradbury and Lisa Lind, both of Freeport; a stepson, Alan (Carol) Hamon, of Nekoosa, WI; and two stepdaughters, Linda (Jerry) Burmeister of Byron and Sylvia (Leslie) Schrader of Freeport; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her sister, Darlene (Dale) Fieldcamp of Peoria.
Her parents; 2 brothers; Allie and Gussie; 2 brothers-in-law, Robert and Thomas preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ with Reverend Ward Malloy officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established for Bethany United Church of Christ.
