Jean M. Moss , age 91 of Rockford, IL, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025. She was born January 13, 1934 in Lena, IL; the daughter of the late Cuyler and Alma (Hintz) Schermerhorn. She was a 1951 graduate of Freeport High School.

Jean married DeWayne Moss on December 1, 1951; he passed on September 30, 1985. She later shared her life with her significant other, Joseph Rogich who passed on September 27, 2007.

Jean worked as a receptionist and secretary for local insurance companies. She was also the A.M. Coordinator at Spectrum School in Rockford, serving students breakfast.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Linda) Rahn; daughter, Diana Lawrence; grandchildren, Jared Lawrence, Dawn (Brad) Schulz, Garrett (Michelle) Rahn, Michelle (Larry) Vojtech, and Jason (Ashley) Rahn; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, DeWayne Moss; significant other, Joseph Rogich; brother, Leonard Schermerhorn; and son-in-law, Fletcher Lawrence.
