Obituary

Nancy A. Massie, 68, of Freeport, died Friday, October 25, 2013, at her home.
Born October 10, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio she was the daughter of Leo and Helen (Marquard) Maloney.
She was a 1963 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown, Ohio. Nancy received her X-ray Technician Certificate from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. She was certified and licensed in Nuclear Medicine and Cat Scanning.
She was a Radiologist Technician working at FHN Memorial Hospital for over 30 years.
Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
An avid reader Nancy enjoyed crossword puzzles, walking (especially at Burchard Hill in Freeport) and attending to her flower gardens.
She liked to support her community working with Friends Forever Humane Society and contributing to Veteran's Groups.
She was a big fan of the Cubs, Bulls, Bears and especially the Highland Cougar Basketball Team.
Surviving is her mate in life, Ronald Henson of Freeport; her children, Tracy (Mario) Williams of Rockford, Lisa (Dan) Osborne of Albion, New York, David (Kristen Powell) Massie of Freeport, and Danny Massie of San Francisco, California; one brother, Jack (Cheryl) Maloney of Camas, Washington; five grandchildren, Terra (Keith) Miller, Matthew Rowntree, David Rowntree, Jessica Toepfer, and Jackson Massie; two great grandchildren, Alexis and Zachary Miller; her second son and daughter, Quinn Henson of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Melody Henson of Freeport; her second grandchild, Arianna Henson; her beloved dogs, Sweetness and Watson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild, one brother and one sister.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. John United Church of Christ.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. John United Church of Christ.
A memorial has been established for Friends Forever Humane Society.
